A common problem most mothers, sitters and general guardians have to face on a day to day basis when dealing with babies is simply ridding a beautiful garment from a stain caused by the baby, without damaging the fabric. Baby food stains are bound to occur when your sweet baby begins eating solid foods. These can be tricky to remove at times, especially when it’s something brightly coloured. When feeding your baby, you should know in advance that they will get food in places you never thought possible including the carpets, upholstery and your clothing. Listed below are tips on how to remove three of the most common types of food that babies eat.
Apples and Bananas: Please note that the quicker you begin these steps to rid the troublesome stain, the better the results.
Step 1: Scrape off any excess apple from the fabric
Step 2: Run the fabric, inside out under cold water to flush out as much of the sauce as possible
Step 3: Treat the stain with a laundry prewash stain remover
Step 4: Place your stained laundry into the hottest water that will allow the fabric to rid the stain, with either a chlorine bleach if the garment will allow it or colour bleach if not.
Yogurt: Being a combination stain, the yogurt will stain as well as the fruit within it. Fortunately for us, yogurt stains are not difficult to get out if you get them quickly!
Step 1: Scrap off any excess yogurt from the fabric
Step 2: Run the fabric, inside out under cold water to flush out as much of the content as possible
Step 3: Pre-treat the stain with a liquid enzyme laundry detergent, soaking for 30 minutes
