I was watching a segment on Good Morning America this morning about “when to start potty training” your baby. To make potty training as smooth a process as possible for you and your toddler, take a moment to learn what works:
Okay, here’s what works...
Wait until your child is ready. There's no magic age for being ready to start learning to use the potty. Most toddlers develop the necessary physical and mental skills between 18 and 24 months, while some kids aren't ready until closer to age 3 or even 4. Keep an eye out for physical, cognitive, and behavioral signs that your toddler might be ready to give it a try.
Just remember, you do not have to keep up with the proverbial “Joneses.” You know, the other mommy’s who boast about their successes with potty training.
Boastful parent:“Oh, my Sarah stop using diapers at 12 months old.” Your response:“Really! Wow, how nice for you and Sarah.”
Stop worrying. Don’t start training your baby when you’re ready or when you think they should be ready. Wait until they’re actually ready. Your life will be better. Your kids bed, linen & clothing will be cleaner and they will have far fewer issues things to stress about.
Seriously. Wait. It is so much better this way.
As your newborn grows into an infant, their senses become more acute. Play gyms are great for helping your child to develop the ability to visually watch objects and concentrate on movements, as well as learn how to distinguish shapes, textures and colors. Baby play-mats are not only the best solution to hold your baby’s attention, they’re also excellent at providing hours of entertainment!

Ladies, are you aware that it’s very important for you and your baby to maintain a healthy and balanced diet? While pregnant you should consume about 300 more calories per day than you normally do - that’s about 2,300 calories total.
Although nausea and vomiting during the first few months of pregnancy can make this difficult, try to eat a well balanced diet and take prenatal vitamins. Here are some recommendations to keep you and your baby healthy.
Check out the video below to what Dr. Keith Eddleman, author of Pregnancy for Dummies suggests:
Valentine gifts for babies can be a very challenging. The traditional gift of a Valentine chocolates and cards, just doesn't cut it. For one thing babies aren't really into reading cards, so that's not such a fabulous Valentine gift!
Most people think that Valentine gifts have to be covered in cupids, hearts or other Valentine's Day motifs. Baby gifts in the shape of hearts are always nice, but not necessary to get the message across.
We’ve got a unique Valentine gift basket ideas to welcome your newborn home!

Many new moms are surprised to find that they’re shedding more hair than usual in the first few months after giving birth, but it's perfectly normal. There's no need to panic: you won't go bald. In fact, your hair should be back to normal by your baby's first birthday.
Causes of Hair Loss After Giving Birth
Hair grows in three stages: the growing stage, the transition stage, and the resting stage. Pregnancy hormones lock all the roots of the hair into the growing stage. As a result - during pregnancy, increased levels of estrogen prolong the growing stage. There are fewer hairs in the resting stage and fewer falling out each day, so you have thicker, more luxuriant tresses.
Post pregnancy, your estrogen levels take a tumble and a lot more hair follicles enter the resting stage. Soon you'll have more hair coming out as you brush. This unusual shedding will taper off and your hair will be back to its pre-pregnancy thickness, about six to 12 months after giving birth.
So, what can I do about it?
Unfortunately, there’s not much that you can do to prevent your hair from falling out, but you can experiment with different hairstyles or hair thickening products, to give your hair a fuller look during this transition period.
Prenatal vitamins are known to benefit your skin, hair and nails, so consult with your doctor on whether you should continue taking them after pregnancy. Natural oil supplements such as: omegas, found in fish, avocados and nuts or in the dietary supplements Fish Oil and Flaxseed Oil, are also beneficial to hair growth.
Avoid wearing pigtails, braids and tight hair curlers which can pull and stress your hair. You may also want to try using shampoos and conditioners that contain biotin and silica.
There is no real cure for temporary hair loss. It’s also important to realize that in most cases involving hair loss after pregnancy, the new hair is already growing in while old hair is falling out. Therefore, the situation is temporary and will remedy itself.
